LPU Campus life

It's really a blunder for me because I can't decide what to include and what not.

The campus life is full of jim-jams. We have got two auditoriums - Shanti Devi Mittal audi & Baldev Raj Mittal audi, One covered unipolis stage where most of the events are organised, One open auditorium where we can find the engineering students after class. One indoor stadium having many sports facilities alongwith pool which is paid. There are two gyms (one which college provides & the other is private which is in the Unimall). The Basketball court and cricket ground which is near Boys Hostels 5&6.
These are the main things affecting campus life, though there are many other things too.

* You are feeling bored? you can play some really cool games in the one bowl gaming zone which has bowling, pool, cricket and lot more.

* Craving for sweets? Here's available the unique and wide variety of sweets at the Lovely Bake studio.

* You want to study hard for polishing your skills? Central library is open till 12:00 AM having the best and quality books for all the streams.

* You can roam with your friends late night and celebrate birthdays. There's no restriction at all.
One thing I hate is timing for entering the college which is 8:00 PM sharp in summers and 7:30 PM in winters.

* Food availability and diversity is quite awesome! There are numerous food-courts making every state famous dishes and price is also not too high. NK food court is one of the best for dinner but it's only for boys at night. Kitchen ette, Oven express, chai-garam are some what I prefer. Rest you can explore better by trying only.

* You can be the member of numerous student organisations working in DSW and get the perks of duty leave:D as well as gain some confidence and leadership qualities.

* You can enhance your English speaking by interacting with the foreign country students. There are lot of workshops for that though.

* You can grab the hexi cycle anytime you want by logging into their website and paying the charges and roam anywhere in the college. You can also take E-rickshaws for 10 rs and go wherever you want.

* There are a lot of cultural as well as academic workshops every week. You can participate more and more and build your skills.

* I know there are lot of things left but I guess mentioning those small things won't work!
Just come and explore:D

Attendance criteria at LPU

You may have heard on various youtube videos and articles about the attendance criteria of LPU.

Any of your missing query would be cleared after reading this:
1.) YES! we have to maintain 75% aggregate attendance in all the subjects in a semester to qualify for giving the end-term examinations.
If somehow your attendance is less than 75%, you will get partially detained in the semester and that means you cannot give the end-term examinations of those subjects in which you have the attendance lesser than 75%. There's the elaboration:-

here's the lpu touch app interface which shows my aggregate attendance as well as subject wise attendance.

So, if my attendance is less than 75% in only one subject, I will get a back-log for only one subject and I can give the ETE's for rest of the subjects.

2.) If my attendance is below 75% , they will check the attendance of my previous semester and if the aggregate was higher than 90% then, I can avail 5% bonus attendance in the current semester.

3.) Also, during the first week of the commencement of a new semester if I will be present for full week, I will get 10% bonus attendance.

4.) Is there any other way of getting attendance?
yes! that is duty leave(DL) which you get in your ums account if during the class you were present at some workshop or any other event held in the college.
you will be marked present for that lecture later and there will be no harm to your attendance.

5.) The worst case scenario is that if you failed to secure more than 75% attendance even in atleast 3 subjects, you will get fully detained. Now, you have to register for the course again and submit the full fees again.

6.) So, please don't avoid your classes unnecessarily and maintain a good percentage of attendance because if you are securing more than 90% attendance you will get 5 marks bonus in the final result in all subjects.
(marks may vary with the subjects)

Faculty of LPU (inside things)

There's a lot of perplexity when it comes directly to all the teaching faculties of any engineering college. In engineering, we have to study 9 subjects in total in 1st semester including all the practicals and professional enhancement subjects. There are almost 12k students who register every year for the B.Tech program in LPU and they all are divided into various sections.

Some sections are lucky to get the most brilliant teaching faculties in 1st sem only who work hard, focus on research and placement level learning of the student. While, Some of the sections may get a little lesser knowledge faculty in the same batch.

Like, some of the teachers aren't that strict to mark you absent if you are 5-10 minutes late for the class. On the other hand , there are teachers too who mark you absent even if you are 1 minute late.

This is a picture of our on-going 1st semester class. our physics sir was surrounded by us asking doubts a day before exam:D

Knowledge of faculties is quite good I must say and they solve your doubts and questions off course but only if you are giving your best to learn and grasp the most from the classes. So, it's too far upto you ,if you are a CSE student like me and want to learn something really good coding to crack the tier-I companies visiting campus, you must study very hard and pull up your socks since the day 1.

But Don't panic my friend, even the very good companies that offer really good packages require minimum CGPA of 7.5 or above which you can secure studying decently. With decently , I mean start studying even before 1 week from exams.
Engage more and more with the faculties and try to make full use of them, they are always present to help and guide you.
Just focus on your core branch more and more and you can also enroll Nptel courses for the IIT level studying and collect some certificates to decorate your CV.

If you have any doubts related to anything in LPU, you can refer my previous blogs and comment down below your queries.

Inside things of LPU

If you want to jump to the glimpses of a day in a life of a verto (LPU student) (still don't know why the call us verto) you have come right place.
I am gonna list the routine of a normal hosteler below:
1.) Wake up at 8:00 if you can join the first class at 9 :-)
2.) Freshen up and live the early morning life with your roomies which is very good.
3.) Then rush to the class after grabbing breakfast from the mess(only if you opted for that though) because most of the boys including me loves the aloo parantha of kitchen ette - it's too awesome!
4.) Look for your class time table on the lpu-touch app and call your friends for the proxy attendance because you just cannot take the lift. remember that!
5.) After the stressful, sleepy, nasty and intellectual session at classes get a break and move with your friends for the refreshments in the canteen at every block 5th level.
6.) At 5 at fridays, LPU becomes a fish market :D single students like me rush towards foodcourts, unimall, gym or to their hostels and for those who are uging to be mingle you know what you have to do but please be careful of the guidelines:D
7.) Finally at 8 or 9 , get off your rooms to grab any fast food or you can chillup with your friends and my personal favourite you can have your dinner at N.K food courts. It's just awesome!

8.) Then you can study at your room, watch any movie or probably play badminton with your friends or the best thing is to grab Unihospital tea at 12:00 AM with your friends.

Well, If I have missed any thing comment down below all the vertos!

Qualifications for joining LPU

The main criteria for the undergraduate programs like B.Tech is that you have to secure an aggregate of at least 60% or more in your 12th board examinations.
Along with that, you have to qualify for the LPU NEST examination for the particular year.

LPU NEST is obviously not a tough job to qualify if you are an average student having knowledge of basic topics from chemistry , maths and physics of class 11 and 12 you can crack it for sure.
Moreover, it can really get your hands on a decent scholarship if you study well for the exam.
